 Massa Masstronaut

Hi, tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from, and what is your history?

Hey, I’m Joel (Oliorn) and I’m from Madeira Island. When I was 18, I moved to Lisbon to study engineering in electronic maritime systems. I chose to study in this area because since very young I was very curious to discover how things work, so I was basically opening RC cars and trying to understand how I could make them go faster. After my studies I started working in Information Security in the bank sector. I discovered Crypto in 2019 and since then one of my favorite hobbies is to read Whitepapers and technical documents from new projects that I find interesting.

When you were a kid, what did you want to grow up and be? What were your dreams and aspirations?

What is your current role in Massa, and what challenges do you face?

Currently I’m a Masstronaut focused on the Portuguese speaking community. In general, I would say that the biggest challenge in crypto communities is to catch people’s attention for new projects and to show their added value to the ecosystem when there are alot of new projects surging every day.

What do you like the most about Massa?

Beside the distinguishable technology behind massa, when I discovered this project, I entered the discord channel to participate in the testnet, and the super friendly community was what I liked the most about massa! Always supper united and helpful for each other, and it’s a pleasure to be part of it!

How do you see the Massa ecosystem 5 years from now? What is Massa`s most interesting part?

I believe that Massa will be one of the top ecosystems in 5 years. It’s vision and fundamentals will allow continuous improvement and innovation in a fast-changing sector. One example of this, is the Autonomous smart contracts that massa supports rigth now.

Setting Massa aside for a moment, what do you do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies?

I’m passionate by travel and sports! Regarding sports, all my life I’ve been trying new ones. Currently I’m spending my free time playing tennis and jogging. Aside from this, since I emerged in crypto one of My favorite hobbies is to read about new projects and understand their added value.

What are your goals in life?

Well, I have many goals but one that I want to share is to travel the world on an Adventure bike. I was thinking about doing it with the incredible Honda Africa Twin CRF 1100L!

What is your favorite food, favorite movie, and favorite rock song?

My favorite food is “Espetada”. It’s basically a traditional way of meat BBQ from Madeira Island. It’s just incredible. My favorite Movie it’s difficult, so I prefer to say that I love Marvel and also Lord of the Rings! My favorite rock music I would say is Sweet Child O’ Mine – Guns N’ Roses.
