TEST.12.0 genesis started

YOU NEED TO RE-INSTALL YOUR NODE FROM SCRATCH. SAVE FORMER WALLET & NODE FILES IN A SAFE PLACE JUST IN CASE YOU LOSE YOUR DISCORD ID

Install instructions: This version changes a lot of things under the hood, so your best course is to delete the massa folder and perform a fresh install. Save your wallet and node private key for potential future recovery if you follow the testnet incentive program, but do not reuse them on the fresh install as they are not compatible anymore.

Information: Datastore keys are not hashed anymore, they’re now byte arrays with a maximum length of 32 bytes, which allows listing cleartext keys. The API endpoint get_addresses now retrieves every key of an address datastore. A new endpoint allowing the user to get the corresponding data entry is available under the name get_datastore_entries. This was highly expected by builders.

The address, public key and private key formats have changed because of cryptographic updates. The tooling has been updated.

The wallet, as well as the staking keys file, are now encrypted. When launching massa-client and massa-node for the first time, you will be be asked to choose a password (with confirmation) in order to create and encrypt your wallet and your staking keys file. Subsequent launches will ask for that password to decrypt the files.

The password does not have to be the same for the client (wallet.dat) and the node (staking_keys.json).

Do not forget your passwords as there is no way to recover them once they’re lost, and the only thing you can do is delete wallet.dat and/or staking_keys.json to generate new ones. A command line option is also available to enter the password without the prompt (–pwd=mypassword) … and a lot of other changes listed here: https://github.com/massalabs/massa/compare/TEST.11.3…TEST.12.0

Scoring will start Wednesday 13, 10.00 AM UTC.
