Introducing Vincent, the most conversational CCO of all possible communities.

Hi , tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from, and what is your history?

I’m Vincent. I have a master’s degree in Political Sciences, and another one in International Business. I always has positions in communication and marketing. In the past I worked for blockchain companies, lobbying firms and fintech companies such as Treezor. I was initiated to crypto in 2018 and once I started to deep dive into communities, I couldn’t stop to explore more about the different ecosystems. In 2021, I participated to the creation of the FTM Alerts Discord Community (the biggest Fantom community). I joined Massa the same year.

When you were a kid, what did you want to grow up and be ? What were your dreams and aspirations ?

As a kid, I always wanted to grow up to have an impact on the world surrounding me. I wanted to be an explorer. It seems I’m not an explorer in the traditional meaning but the blockchain adopters and builders are a kind of explorers, aren’t they? I always enjoyed discovering and understanding new technologies since my childhood, and blockchain seems to totally match this path.

How did you discover Massa Labs, and what got you interested?

I discovered Massa when I joined Treezor, in 2019. Damir, Massa’s CTO and one of the Massa co-founders, was part of the same company and introduced me at the time the fundamentals of the projects. Later on, I had the chance to meet Adrien and Sébastien, the two other co-founders, and to participate to brainstorming sessions and discussions about their projects. What caught my interest in particular was the high level of decentralization they wanted for Massa, the research approach and the development from scratch (not another EVM copycat).

What is your current role in Massa, and what challenges do you face?

I’m currently in charge of Communication, Content and Community. I work hand in hand with Jonathan, who is in charge of Marketing and Partnerships. We can say that both of us together are like one CMO. One of the challenges, faces by many people in small teams and startups, is the wide range of diverse tasks to cover and to organise. Also, to make the community aware of the vision, to develop this vision and to make the business needs for developing the project and matching this vision is something where a balance always needs to be achieved.

What do you like the most about Massa?

The vision, the team, the innovations. There are so many things to enjoy with Massa, as a company, as well as a project. About the vision, once again, the decentralization and the real blockchain values it brings are quite unique in the sphere, it’s about making it something that we don’t control, on the opposite of most of the other L1 out there, who chose to instead have very centralized projects. About the team, there is this sense of friendship and great understanding about all the members, and this common goal to achieve with everyone on board: it’s a pleasure to work alongside such people everyday. About the innovations, what L1s brought really new experience recently? Not many. Autonomous Smart Contracts and real web3.0 (not just proposing the typical web2.0 dApps) is something unique, again, and I could even be bolder: revolutionary.

How do you see the Massa ecosystem 5 years from now ? What is Massa`s most interesting part ?

I see Massa in 5 years as a thriving ecosystem, and with many more innovations. I see it as a major player in the field of blockchain thanks to all those innovations that no other projects are bringing. I also see our community as one of the most active one, and many atypical projects to emerge on it thanks to our approach of allowing new kind of smart contracts, with more common programming languages.

Setting Massa aside for a moment, what do you do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies?

Until recently, I had a deep interest about blockchain as a hobby – since I was not working in the field. Now, matching this hobby with my everyday work, I am able to once again take my time to continue to discover new technologies, and projects which are not only about blockchain. I also enjoy very much travelling and a good hike in the countryside. Finally, I guess my Political Sciences background made me keep a deep interest in Geopolitics and History.

What are your goals in life?

To continue to grow with Massa, and make our community the best and unique. But besides that, just to spend great time with my family, make them happy and live happily ever after! I think that is a simple goal.

What is your favorite food, favorite movie, and favorite rock song?

A nice filet de bar (sea bass fillet), or a confit de canard (duck confit) is always something I enjoy. I guess that’s very French in a way. Regarding movies, as everyone, many come to my mind, and in particular I always love SciFi, and here I would say Dune (1984) – fun fact being that it is traditionally a movie SciFi fans don’t like. And who never loved a good Starship Troopers (1997)? In terms of French movies, I really love Klapisch movies such as “Le Péril jeune”, “Riens du tout” or also “L’Auberge espagnole”. In terms of music? I became a huge fan of the Ukrainian band Okean Elzy (“Без бою”), and the first music I ever loved, since my tender age (and still love) was the band The Police (“Message In A Bottle”).

Anything you would like to say to the community?

Thanks to the community and the community leaders for making Massa a special place. I think I can speak for all the team to say we are feeling blessed to have such a great community and people around us. Thanks also to all the builders who are taking an interest about our innovations and are ready to build new things. Well, many of you have been already in touch with me, but my DM also remain open for all of you (even if I can miss some of them, which I apologize for!). Stay safe, Kesha’s love, peace.
